This sapphire has been certified as no heat AGL Classic™ designation combined with various sources (such as Kashmir, Burma, Colombia, Ceylon, etc.) is utilized when there is a special combination of attributes:
1. The stone possesses a number of gemological characteristics that allow for a very high confidence level in the country-of-origin determination
2. The stone also possesses a top-quality -- the quality which helped to earn these sources their name and status.
A stone must have both attributes to receive an AGL Classic™ designation. If a stone has one, but not the other, we will not issue an AGL Classic™' call. It is a kind of branding for special stones. AGL prefers this approach to using historic terms such as 'pigeon's blood' or 'royal blue', etc. which are presently being commercialized to such an extent that the glory of the historic meaning is virtually lost.
