The word Padparadscha originates from Sanskrit in ancient Ceylon (now Sri Lanka), describing the color of the red lotus, representing the supreme holiness and the pure beauty of life, and is the most sacred gem in Sri Lanka. Standard Padma Corundum PADPARACHA (Orange Pink Corundum) is a mixture of orange and pink. The most well-known evaluation standard is "orange is like a sunset, pink is like a lotus bloom", which is only occasionally seen at auctions.
High-quality PADPARACHA produced by Ceylon can fetch highs of 200,000 to 300,000 US dollars per carat. Please refer to a 3.11-carat Sri Lankan unburned PADPARADSCHA lotus corundum ring sold for NT$1.27 million in April 2019 at Sotheby's Hong Kong. Please refer to a 11.68-carat PADPARADSCHA lotus corundum diamond ring at Sotheby's Hong Kong in October 2016, which was hammered at a high price of NT$9.07 million
